Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026

The Lattice Project ("we," "us," or "our") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 41-2557596). We care about your privacy and keep what we collect to a minimum. This policy explains what information we gather when you visit thelatticeproject.org, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you fill out our contact form, we collect the details you choose to provide — your name, email address, and your message, along with an optional organization name and phone number. When you make a donation, you provide your information directly to our donation processor, Givebutter (see "Services we rely on" below); we do not collect or store your payment card details ourselves.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use our site. This collects usage information such as the pages you visit, the type of device and browser you use, your approximate location (derived from your IP address, not precise), and how you interact with the site. This is gathered through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your messages and inquiries.
  • To acknowledge and keep records of donations.
  • To understand how our site is used so we can improve it.
  • To follow up about the residency, a partnership, or other work, if you've reached out to us about it.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure site usage. You can control or clear cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics specifically by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on. Some content we embed — such as videos from YouTube or posts from TikTok — may set its own cookies if you interact with it, under those companies' own privacy policies.

Services we rely on

To run our site and our work, we use a small number of trusted third-party services, each with its own privacy practices:

  • Netlify — hosts our website and handles contact-form submissions.
  • Google Analytics — measures website usage.
  • Givebutter — securely processes donations.
  • Embedded content from YouTube and TikTok, and fonts served by Google.

How we share information

We share your information only with the service providers above, and only as needed to operate our site, respond to you, and process donations. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights. Otherwise, we keep it to ourselves.

How long we keep it

We keep contact-form messages and donation records for as long as we need them to do our work and to meet legal and accounting requirements, after which we delete them.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing jesse@thelatticeproject.org. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA; contact us and we'll help you exercise them.

Children's privacy

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
